Objective
As part of the renewed grant, the program has incorporated a
new ethics training component. The purpose of this is to expand
the students’ knowledge in research integrity and research
ethics issues and to address the growing demand for expertise in
research ethics.
As part of this enhanced training, students are encouraged to
learn more about research ethics, to integrate some ethical
analysis of the challenges facing the health care system in
their work, and to consult with key mentors who will equip them
with enhanced training in this area.
Training Opportunities
During the training year students will have
access to:
• A research ethics mentor who can address queries or direct
students to appropriate resources available within their
perspective universities
• A presentation during the Annual Boot Camp entitled:
Intersections of Health Law and Ethics
• Presentations at the different program events with a strong
ethics focus
Expectations
Additionally students are expected to conduct an online
Introductory Tutorial of the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS).
Students are to submit a copy of their certificate of completion
to the program within 3 months from the start of the program.
