Admission and Application Process

The program welcomes applications from both full-time students at a Masters level (LLM) and at the Doctoral level (SJD). In order to be considered for admission to the Program, a student must be first admitted into the Faculty of Law graduate program at one of the four participating institutions: Dalhousie University, University of Alberta, Université de Sherbrooke or the University of Toronto and submit an application to the program’s the Selection Committee. This Committee will be comprised of William Lahey (Dalhousie), Robert Kouri (Université de Sherbrooke), Colleen Flood (University of Toronto), and Tim Caulfield (University of Alberta).
The criteria for selection will be excellence in academic record; a commitment to multi-disciplinary research; a fit with available supervisory capacity; and a balance across the spectrum of health policy issues in order to more comprehensively meet the full range of needs of Canada’s health care system.

  • Submit Application Form   Word format     PDF format

  • transcripts from all universities attended *

  • two academic letters of reference *

  • one page (maximum) statement of interest in health law, ethics & policy

* Certified copies from the Graduate Studies Program at one of the four institutions will be accepted.

The deadline for application submission is March 15 2010
